The 10th Annual Twin Cities Black Film Festival promises to bring the excitement of independent film to a whole new level. The 2012 TCBFF is hosted and sponsored by The Film Society of Minneapolis St.Paul to showcase cinemas' most provocative work at the St. Anthony Main Theater September 27-30.
This year familiar sponsors such as HBO and Chipotle are joined by W Hotels, Microsoft, Vitamin Water, Patron, Hipnotic, McDonalds and Metro Transit, whose generous support will help spread the word about the four day event that will showcase some of the most unique and entertaining films from around the country.

The Spook Who Sat By the Door 102 min
The Spook Who Sat by the Door is a 1973 film based on the novel of the same name by Sam Greenlee. It is both a satire of the civil rights struggle in the United States of the late 1960s and a serious attempt to focus on the issue of black militancy. Dan Freeman, the titular protagonist, is enlisted in the Central Intelligence Agency's elitist espionage program as its token black. Upon mastering agency tactics, however, he drops out to train young Chicago blacks as "Freedom Fighters."

Marcus and Richard have been best friends for years. Richard is smooth with the ladies and his best friend Marcus likes to play video games far more than any other person on the planet. Somehow the two manage to click but when Richard meets the love of his life CJ and her best friend Gazelle how can he get Marcus who is obsessed with video games to snap out of it long enough to get them to think they are cool. To make things worse a player hater keeps showing up to challenge Marcus's skill with the controller and Richard's skills with keeping the situation under control. Meanwhile Marcus's only concern is getting the new GS4. It's a crazy comedy about video games and relationships.

Quand le Bonheur Director Present 19 min
In the suburbs of Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso, Pousnoago, an old beggar woman, find Samira, a weeping little girl, sitting at the foot of a tall tree near the road. The old woman strikes up a friendship with her and discovers gradually that the poor little girl’s parents were assassinated in Ivory Coast by militaries during the war that opposed the Governmental Army and the New Forces. Therefore, she was repatriated to Burkina Faso and arrived at Ouagadougou where nobody knows to her. The old woman, very shocked by the little girl’s tragedy, decides to adopt her. Unfortunately, meningitis W135 will put an end to Pousnoaga’s hope.
